Role Overview

SL Data Services is seeking a Data Engineer to support internal data systems and workflows used to organize, process, and deliver structured real estate data.

This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines, supporting internal tooling, and collaborating with data operations teams to ensure data flows are consistent, documented, and aligned with operational requirements.

The Data Engineer works on internal systems rather than consumer-facing products and supports long-term data services used by business clients.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this role include:

Designing and maintaining internal data pipelines and workflows
Supporting data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes
Collaborating with data operations teams to align systems with data organization standards
Maintaining documentation for data pipelines and internal tools
Monitoring internal data processes and addressing operational issues
Supporting integration of data into internal systems and delivery mechanisms
Contributing to improvements in system reliability and maintainability

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

2–5 years of experience in data engineering or data-focused software roles
Experience building and maintaining data pipelines using common data engineering tools
Familiarity with databases, data warehouses, and structured data formats
Experience working with scripting or programming languages commonly used in data environments (e.g., Python, SQL)
Comfort working with batch data workflows and internal data systems
Experience collaborating with non-engineering teams such as data operations or support
Strong attention to documentation and maintainable system design
Experience in real estate data, data services, or information-driven environments is helpful but not required
